Most engagements are a fixed monthly retainer: books kept tax-ready, Hawaii GET filed on time, and one person who already knows your numbers when the tax question comes. Cleanup and complexity are quoted before any work begins.
Returns are prepared and filed under Tax Accountability Services, the tax practice of Sumile Advisory. Per-return pricing scales with when I receive the complete information I need to prepare your return: before March 1 qualifies for the early rate, and information received in March is billed at the standard rate.

A priced return means one Form 1040, 1120, 1065, or 1120-S, plus one state return of your choice. Multiple federal returns are billed separately at the rate for when complete information is received for each return. For example, a taxpayer filing both an individual Form 1040 and a corporate Form 1120 pays two times the applicable rate. These prices assume clean financials. If books or records need cleanup before a return can be filed, it falls under the retainer work above and is quoted up front, so April is never a surprise. Additional states or material complexity (multiple K-1s, several rental properties, foreign reporting, etc.) are quoted up front before any work begins.
